Recently, Professor Chen Zongsheng, scholar at Center for Studies of Political Economy of Nankai University and president of China Institute of Wealth Economics, led a team to conduct field research on Tianjin's assistance to Chengde City, Hebei Province, accompanied by doctor and master students from the School of Economics of Nankai University. This survey focuses on the poverty alleviation measures in Chengde City and the poverty alleviation work and achievements undertaken by Tianjin, making preparations for the next step of cooperation between Yale University and Nankai University in immigration poverty alleviation research. Similarly, another preparatory survey in three counties in Hotan, Xinjiang has recently been completed.
